EDJ EXCEPTion™ Web Application

EDJ Enterprises, Inc. (EDJ) is pleased to announce the availability of the EXCEPTion™ Web application.

EXCEPTion filters cashier performance data to find cashiers warranting investigation.  A loss prevention analyst’s time is too valuable and too limited to be able to track all cashiers on a regular basis.  EXCEPTion picks out and highlights which cashiers should be examined within a store, district or region.

Every day, EXCEPTion collects cashier information in the store and sends the data to a database at headquarters.  Each store controller builds records during end-of-day processing.  The mainframe at headquarters is not tied up processing transaction logs to create the records since each store handles that task.

Creating an EXCEPTion report is easy.  The user simply picks a date range, a group of stores or cashiers, and a predefined standard.  EXCEPTion processes the cashiers in the database.  The result is a report with the cashiers highlighted if their performance exceeds the standards.  Color-coding is used to draw the eye to specific cashiers in each category or column on the report.

EXCEPTion connects directly with the new ESCAPE™ Web application.  A double click on any cell on the report is enough to launch a search for the transactions behind the numbers on the report.  This powerful technique links two EDJ tools together to speed up the investigative process.  The user can immediately determine whether or not a cashier has a training problem or is engaged in fraudulent activities.

EXCEPTion Web is built using Microsoft’s ASP.NET.  EXCEPTion uses Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or higher as its database engine.
